Nomination papers must be filed with the County Clerk, and the candidate filing period opens on July 13, 2022 and closes at 5:00 p.m. on August 12, 2022 by 5:00 p.m. EXCEPTION: If any one of the incumbents has not filed by the deadline, the filing period is extended to 5:00 p.m. on August 17, 2022 for anyone other than the incumbents. The terms of Steve Straight, Nancy Schuler Jones and William Caldeira will expire in December 2022. Seats are open in Districts 1 (at-large), 3 and 4 (by-trustee area). The District 1 seat is a two-year term to fill out the remainder of the seat left vacant due to the resignation of former Board Member Heath. Candidates for at-large seats may reside anywhere within the District’s boundaries. Based on the transition plan adopted by the Board in 2022, in 2024 the election for the District 1 seat will become a by-trustee area election, meaning candidates will have to reside
within District 1 to be eligible to run.
